Melissa Ann Smith, born on June 4, 1982, is a Canadian-American singer, dancer and actress.

Smith was born in Toronto, Ontario and later grew up in Rochester Hills, Michigan. Her father is of English descent and mother of Italian. She started figure skating at age four, moved on to gymnastics at age twelve and progressed towards dancing. She attended Deborah's Stage Dance Door performing arts academy in Rochester Hills, Michigan. She went on to become a solo dancer, as well as a dancer in large groups that won national competitions "Showstoppers", "Star Power" and "Showbiz". She is also a bikini model.

This led to regional and national titles in song and dance competitions.

Smith also tried her hand at modelling and at age sixteen won second place at a National Miss Photogenic Competition. This catapulted her in to such jobs as promotional modelling for Match.com , Detroit Automotive Show, McDonald's, GAP, Skechers.

At age eighteen Smith auditioned for girl pop group, "Goddess" and became the group's lead singer. She was then signed to a production deal with Interscope Records and cut her first solo demo. She has shot three independent films, cast as the lead in them. She has also landed a recurring character in a pilot for the WB titled Prep, shot a FOX Promo for American Idol, dance choreography for WB Grounded For Life, and in late 2002, screen tested for One Life to Live. Recently she has guest-starred on the NBC comedy Happy Family, as well as The Young and The Restless. She has also worked as a Sports Announcer for FOX Special Events. More recently she was a finalist in Diddy’s Making The Band 3 – Season 2. She was also on a special episode of Exposed: Celebrity Version with one of Danity Kane's members Aubrey O'Day.

In 2007, Smith appeared as a contestant on the CW's Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll and placed fourth. The winner was one of Smith's closest friends on the show, Asia Nitollano. In interviews following her elimination, Smith has revealed that she is working on a solo album, and its first single will be entitled "So Hot".
