Lisa Maffia, born on June 16, 1979, in South London, is a British musician who originally came to the public's attention as the main female member of So Solid Crew.

Whilst in So Solid, the singer notched up 5 top 20 hits, including a platinum selling single 21 Seconds and a platinum selling album They Dont Know. She was born to an Italian mother and a black father.

Her own first solo album, First Lady was released in August 2003, and won a MOBO award in the Best UK garage Act category. Lisa was also nominated for 2 other MOBO awards Best UK Act and Best UK Newcomer Lisa is trained in Latino ballroom, tap and modern dancing and practised gymnastics as a child. In March 2005 Lisa won the silver medal in series three of The Games. 

Debut single All Over and second single In Love became two of the best selling singles of 2003. In her time since recording her debut album she has set up her own record label "Maffia Recordz", to which she has signed acts such as Northstar Ent, Flirta D, Romeo and Youngstarz. 

Lisa has said in many interviews recently that she will be launching her first official Calendar later on this year. She has quoted that the calendar is set around many different settings including in studio and ibiza, and has been working with up and coming photographers. In October 2007, Lisa Maffia was voted number 43 in the top 100 British singers poll in Nuts Magazine. 

In May 2007, Lisa Maffia announced on her official Myspace that she has been recording her upcoming album at the Murlyn Studios, known to have penned songs for Christina Milian, Madonna, Kylie Minogue and others. On September the 10th, Maffia released her single Bad Girl At Night, whilst the single reached 36, the single is having massive success over Europe leading to Maffia doing a tour all over Europe. Lisa has said she will continue the genre on her up and coming album which may see the release of a double cd filled with Electro House and Dirty Pop. The album is expected to be released March 2008.

Also her record label Maffia Recordz is up and running, shes signed rappers Young Spray, Chyna and C-One as part of a group called North Star. They have released such tracks as On A Rise, Love Like This, Our Time and Rollin wit da nines. She has also signed underground grime emcee Flirta D. It has been rumoured Maffia's next single will be called "Numbers" and is produced by Timbaland. The song is due for release early 2008 with her long awaited new album as yet to be named.
