MOVIES Vanessa Snyder (Alexa Vega) is a middle schooler whose future is bright: she's a straight A-student, a star on the soccer team, and her mother's (Lisa Vidal) pride and joy. Pretty, popular, and well-adjusted, Vanessa finds that her life turns upside down when her so-called best friend (Leah Pipes) turns on her, mounting a smear campaign of monumental proportions, and setting Vanessa on a path to self-destruction that her mother desperately tries to prevent. Odd Girl Out certainly tries to capture the horror of high school that most kids go through everyday with all the horror movie atmosphere and heavy drama. Unlike Mean Girls, there's nothing funny about it. It stays true to life and explores the viciousness of high school students, who, underneath their cute, innocent and friendly exterior can be monsters. The acting is perfect. Leah Pipes is extremely slappable as the two-faced Queen Bee and Elizabeth Rice, who plays Nikki is one of the scariest girls ever to appear in a movie. Here's the preview: Browse Movies >> A
