Brandy Sued by Crash Victim's Parents
Brandy is being sued for $50 million by the family of a woman killed in a car crash that's being blamed on the singer/actress. Awatef Aboudihaj's parents filed a wrongful death lawsuit at Los Angeles Superior Court yesterday after police recommended the singer be charged with misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter. Their 38-year-old daughter was killed in a four-car freeway crash in California on December 30. The California Highway Patrol has ruled Brandy was at fault because she failed to prevent her Land Rover from hitting the car in front when traffic slowed down.

The Aboudihajs' lawsuit accuses Brandy - real name Brandy Norwood - of "reckless driving" and seeks $50 million in compensatory and punitive damages. If found guilty of criminal charges, Brandy faces a maximum sentence of one year in jail and a $1,000 fine. The 27-year-old last week issued a statement through her publicist offering her condolences to Aboudihaj's family.

Kidman Involved in On-Set Accident
Oscar winner Nicole Kidman was taken to hospital Wednesday night after being involved in an accident on the set of her latest film, The Invasion, in downtown Los Angeles.

The actress was filming a scene in which she was driving a Jaguar, trying to escape zombie-like characters who were hanging off the hood, when the accident happened. The vehicle was being towed by a rig in order to give the appearance that the actress was actually driving the car. The stunt driver operating the rig lost control while turning a corner, causing Kidman's car to hit a pole and knock over a garbage can. The actress and her co-star, 10-year-old Jackson Bond, who was riding in the passenger seat, were both wearing seatbelts. Members of the crew immediately wrapped a blanket around Kidman and paramedics arrived to check the actress for injuries. The 39-year-old star was taken to Cedars Sinai Medical Center and was released within two hours. According to American publication Us Weekly, the actress was in shock and took a long break, but eventually resumed filming later that night. Her husband, Keith Urban, and 11-year-old son Connor Cruise, were reportedly on set with her at the time of the accident.
