BIOGRAPHY Jordana Brewster, born April 26, 1980, is an American actress.
Jordana is the daughter of investment banker Alden Brewster and Maria Jaao, a former “Sports Illustrated” swimsuit model from Brazil while her grandfather is Kingman Brewster, the former president of Yale. After being raised in London, England till the age of six, her family decided to move to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for the next four years where Jordana learned to speak fluent Portuguese. Within this time, her mother had another lovely daughter named Isabella. Jordana began performing at the age of eight. During her stay in Rio de Janeiro, she earned her first screen credit as a dancer in a 1988 Brazilian children’s show “Xuxa Against Evil”. She and her family then moved to Manhattan, New York where Jordana studied at the Manhattan’s Convent of the Sacred Heart, a Catholic school exclusively for girls where she appeared in a number of theatrical performances including Godspell, where she played the part of Jesus Christ. She then continued her schooling at the Professional School for Children.
During that time, Jordana appeared in “All My Children” (1970), a daytime soap opera as Anita Santos but it was in “As the World Turns” (1956), where she played the role of Nikki Munson-Graves that she began to make a name for herself. She spent three years working for the show and left with the intention of attending Yale, but her acting career took off after she was cast as the cheerleader Delilah Proffitt in the teen horror flick “The Faculty” in 1998. Jordana also went on to co-star in the NBC mini-series “The 60’s” directed by Lynda Obst in 1999 before undertaking another feature, playing the lead role of Pheobe, Cameron Diaz’s sister in “The Invisible Circus” in 2000. She was also currently dating Mark Wahlberg until June 2001. However, it was her role as Mia Toretto in the blockbuster hit “The Fast and The Furious” in 2001 that led her to reach Hollywood stardom. For her beauty she is Ranked #96 in Stuff magazine’s “102 Sexiest Women In The World” in 2002 and during this time was said to be dating Derek Jeter. Despite her success and the offers that came pouring in after that, Jordana elected to return to Yale to finish her undergraduate schooling and take a break from the acting world for a while. In 2003, she graduated from Yale and made her return in the movie “D.E.B.S.” in 2005, playing sultry super villain Lucy Diamond and is named #54 on the Maxim Magazine’s Hot 100 of 2005 list.
In 2006, she star opposite James Franco in the Disney drama “Annapolis, directed by Justin Lin. Also she will set to star in the upcoming projects “Nearing Grace”, “Chasing Fate” and “Texas Chainsaw Massacre: the Prequel”. Web site: jordana-brewster.org View GALLERY:
