BIOGRAPHY Jennifer O'Dell Scarlett, born 27 November 1974 in Ridgecrest, California, is an American actress.
Often compared to a young Sharon Stone, Jennifer O’Dell is well on her way to becoming a household name. One rarely finds an accomplished actor with as many natural and learned talents and skills as California-born Jennifer O’Dell. Jennifer first achieved fame as the lead in Television’s The Lost World where she played jungle clad Veronica. Jennifer spent three years in Australia filming the popular TV series. Recently Jennifer shot the female lead in the independent psychological thriller ’Nevermore’ opposite Judd Nelson & Vincent Spano.
Only a few months prior she was on location in Puerto Rico shooting the sci-fi channel movie ’Slayer’ as the female lead opposite Casper Van Dien. While here in Los Angeles she had time to guest star the comedy ‘Out of Practice’ with Henry Winkler & CSI: Miami with David Caruso. Most of the time, however, Jennifer is acting and preparing for film roles. Her initiation into the acting profession began at the early age of eight, when she moved with her parents from Hawaii to Southern California. While training for a career on stage and in front of the camera, she was cast in several film commercials.
O’Dell's first movie was Sometimes they Come Back…For More. Then came a recurring part in television’s Beverly Hills 90210, followed with appearances in NBC’s The Profiler, CBS’ Diagnosis Murder, the ever-popular Silk Stalkings, High Tide, USA Network’s Extreme Blue, the HBO original movie Only in America. Her memorable role in the two hour pilot Lost World led to her being cast as a lead in the TV series. Jennifer also appeared in the films Point Doom, and MGM’s Molly. O’Dell stage appearances with the San Diego Repertory Theatre include Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, Grease and The Good Doctor. After shooting Lost World she made her way all over the air ways and had the pleasure to work on show’s such as Nip/Tuck, The Closer & a recurring part on General Hospital as a classic femme fatal Lana James. On location in Australia and during the shooting of Lost World, Jennifer learned stunt and combat fighting, which added two more skills to her already long list of talents, which in addition to acting, modeling, singing and dancing, includes boxing and kick boxing, water and jet skiing, roller skating and horseback riding.
O’Dell's singing and dancing talents have been spotlighted in music videos with the Backstreet Boys and David Charvee. When she’s not practicing yoga or tossing footballs, you might find her batting on the baseball diamond, dribbling on the basketball court or skiing the slopes somewhere; that is, if she’s not in the gym lifting weights or at the wheel teaching someone the art of spinning. For that, she’s a certified instructor. Jennifer O’Dell’s primary certification, however, is voiced by the many directors with whom she has worked, her co-thespians, and a growing number of fans.
