Emilie De Ravin

Emilie de Ravin, born on December 27, 1981, is an Australian actress. She is known for starring in the hit ABC drama Lost as the character Claire Littleton.

De Ravin was born in Mount Eliza, Victoria, Australia (a town to the south east of Melbourne). Having studied ballet since the age of nine, she was accepted into the highly selective Australian Ballet School at fifteen. There, she performed in productions with the Australian Ballet Company as well as Danceworld 301. De Ravin studied acting at Australia's National Institute of Dramatic Art,and with the Prime Time Actors Studio in Los Angeles.

De Ravin first starred in BeastMaster. De Ravin was previously best known for her role as alien/human hybrid Tess Harding on the hit teen drama Roswell. De Ravin portrayed an alien who was determined to fulfill her destiny and became a mother with her boyfriend Max. Near the end of the series she sacrificed her life to hide the identities of her son and the other alien hybrids. She landed this role one month after moving to Los Angeles at the age of 18.

In 2006, De Ravin starred in two films, the horror "The Hills Have Eyes" as Brenda Carter, and in the film Brick, a small film which was popular in the Sundance Film Festival. She also starred in "Lost" as Claire Littleton.

De Ravin appeared at the 2007 MuchMusic Video Awards on Sunday, June 17, 2007.
